About this data

Source: ERA5 reanalysis by ECMWF / Copernicus Climate Change Service, via Open-Meteo — the scientific standard for reconstructing past climate, air temperature 2m above ground, from 1940.
Anomalies are measured against the 1961–1990 climate normal (WMO reference period).
Each city is a single point on the ERA5 grid — regional scale data, consistent with (but not a replacement for) global datasets from NASA, NOAA and Copernicus.
